This is my first gig since last April, and I would love to see everyone there! It is a celebration of music, healing and positive energy. It's a free show - there is no charge at the door.

Festival-goers will have a chance to get a sneak preview of what’s in store at the 16th ANNUAL WINTERFOLK BLUES AND ROOTS FESTIVAL when some of the finest folk, roots and blues artists will take the stage for this event to benefit Winterfolk. Presented by Winterfolk XVI Blues & Roots Festival along with Lillian Wauthier, Artistic Director of Acoustic Harvest, the event will include kick-in-the-pants, harmony-driven roots trio Dirty Dishes, finger-style guitarists Brian Gladstone w/Tony Quarrington, hillbilly swing duo HOTCHA!, Juno Award-winning, barrelhouse blues man Julian Fauth and more to be announced.

Nashville Bound - Benefit for HomelessThe Freetimes Cafe320 College StToronto, Ont M5T 1S3Canada(416) 967-1078On Sunday March 11, 2018 at 8:00 pm at the Free Times Cafe, NASHVILLE BOUND is holding a BENEFIT for an organization that serves the Homeless in our city of Toronto - it's called "Sanctuary", which is situated on Charles St. just east of Yonge. "Sanctuary" is a Christian organization that has all kinds of support programs for the Homeless - as it says on their website, their purpose is:
"... sharing our lives and our resources, we reach out to a downtown neighbourhood offering dignity, support and direction to people who want to reclaim healthy, meaningful lives. Through drop-ins, street outreach and one-to-one relationships, we offer food, clothing and basic health care. Our staff help individual community members access welfare, housing, legal counsel, medical care, counselling, therapy or drug rehabilitation. Perhaps the most valuable thing we offer is simple friendship."Well that's pretty darn good - providing friendship and caring and guidance for the homeless - and I know with the recent over-crowding of hostels in Toronto and the cold winter temperatures, these people could use some help and support.
So NASHVILLE BOUND has set up a BENEFIT at the Free Times Cafe (320 College St.) on Sunday March 11th at 8:00 pm to raise a little cash and a LOT OF AWARENESS for them and give them a big-time morale boost: The line-up of entertainers for this night is full of talent: Nashville Bound is a Songwriter's Showcase - so on this night we will feature some of the best songwriters in Toronto - as well as some of the folks who actually WORK at SANCTUARY - so this is the lineup:
FIRST SET - 8:00 pm: - Sam Sundarsingh - Greg Paul - Erin Lindan - Jennifer Dash
SECOND SET: 9:15 pm - Don Graham - Meredith Moon - Glen Hornblast
THIRT SET: 10:15 pm - Mr. Rick - Brian Gladstone - Harpin Norm Lucien
So the format at Nashville Bound is sort of similar to a Nashville-style Songwriter's Round - we put 3 or 4 songwriters on a stage and they all take turns playing their songs. Each performer will get to play 3 songs - and I can tell you this LINEUP is going to knock your socks off. From the awesome Sam Sundarsingh, the talented Meredith Moon, and the delightful Mr. Rick, I guarantee this is going to be a great show. These are all seasoned musicians who perform around Toronto and elsewhere - and they are all taking time out of their busy schedules to help the Homeless and help their COMMUNITY. Yay to them!Free Times Cafe is located right at College and Major St, a block or so west of Spadina and has fantastic food. The Admission is $10 or Pay What You Can - but we hope people will be generous - because we all know the need is there - and the least we can do is to go have some fun and raise a little money for them.

Brian Gladstone has been involved in the Canadian roots music scene for almost thirty-five years as an artist, performer, sing songwriter, producer, festival director, and activist. Brian Gladstone has written and recorded four albums, all of which have garnered global acclaim and worldwide airplay, with a fifth to be released in late 2017. His albums have been signed with Comstock Records, as well as Silverwolf Records.
In the last ten years Gladstone has played over 1,000 live shows, done over 100 live radio interviews including CBC and hour features on JAZZ FM, about 10 TV spots including CBC news and Global morning show, and has been reviewed and featured in over 100 publications world wide. Brian has toured for several years through Canada and UK – and has a passion for the Canadian Maritimes during the summer.His self written and performed CD’s, all recorded at home, have garnered critical global acclaim in over 100 reviews in the last decade, including a feature story in ‘The Report on Pop Culture’, a mainstream California based publication. He has won awards from several music organizations, including a certificate of 50,000 downloads for two consecutive years!
Brian founded Toronto’s Winterfolk Blues and Roots Festival, now going into it’s fifteenth year, where he is still the acting festival director. Starting as a small neighborhood event from a simple idea, Winterfolk has grown into a major music event on the Toronto music scene, attracting an audience of over 8,000 roots music fans annually.
Brian founded the non profit organization ‘The Association of Artists for A Better World’ which encourages artists to use their voices to change the world. In additon to his own music, Brian has produced eight CDs under the ‘Better World’ label featuring other artists, as well as presented numerous concerts for various social causes and charities.
Gladstone continues to remain active in the local roots music scene, both as an artist and festival director, and has no plans to retire any time soon.
